Question 1. What do think is good about the area? Residents are friendly. Palmers Green feels like a safe place to live. Lots of people care about the area. There is a good park. People are nice and there are good schools, nice parks and generally a good feel but the High Street is lacking in having any positive charms. Question 2. Question 1. What do think is good about the area? The lovely old houses and buildings in the high street, the shops and restaurants. Question 2. What do you think is less good about the area? Far too much signage and railings everywhere. The loss of the huge tree at Aldermans hill triangle is a huge blow. I counted 48 signs and railings in this small area alone. The children’s section is really nice with seating for young children and access to the toilet it makes it an ideal place to take little ones especially when the weather is not so good outside. Sadly after an excellent re-launch in December 2010, with a fantastic response from the public, the Sunday market in Palmers Green station car park is once again dwindling. This is largely due to lack of visibility despite various attempts at signage at the entrance to the car park. Sadly there is a vicious circle at play in that not enough footfall discourages traders from coming and not enough traders makes the market less attractive and so it goes on. Too much litter on the streets Too much dog mess on the pavements. This is a health hazard. Stop people spilling out of the fox drunk on a Friday night We should actively reduce the number of betting shops. Way too many Broomfield park should be used for concerts Introduce a local “wedge” card like scheme which reward people for spending their money locally. Need to encourage local shops and penalise landlords / encourage landlords to let retail space Far too much litter on.......
