Question 1. What do think is good about the area?
Good – fairly good variety of shops but need more and less cafes. Generally clean and tidy
Question 2. What do you think is less good about the area?
Less good – need more clothes shops. Narrow pavement where the car / tv shops are near the bus stop. Too much clutter there (opposite studio 21)
Question 3. What would you like to see to improve the area?
Improve – do not allow signs on pavement where its narrow and busy. Take away any bins / posts along that stretch.
Question 4a. Specific aspects – traffic
Traffic - put double yellow lines next to McDonalds so cars can get in and out of car park without block the road outside.
Question 4b. Specific aspects – parking
Supports free ½ hr parking
If you can park for a short time it’s worth trying to get something local. If you pay you might as well go further straight away.
Doesn’t support Sunday charges
Question 4c. Specific aspects – clutter
Clutter – get rid of them on narrow pavements
Question 4d. Specific aspects – look of the shops/architecture
Look of shops – O. closed shops need to look better.
Question 4e. Specific aspacts – type and range of shops
Type of shops - more variety. Clothes, shoes, sports, crafts, butchers / fish
Question 4f. Specific aspects – amount and use of pavement space
Pavements – only where pavement is wider but nice to have outside café seats. Don’t let shops fill up pavements especially on the narrow side.
Question 4g. Specific aspects – the Triangle public space
Triangle -get rid of toilets and plant more coloured flowers
Question 4h. Specific aspects – Greenery
Planters – nice when the baskets are up. Other beds need to be better planted.
Any other comments
Other – do something to reduce costs for shops so they can stay / come in otherwise it won’t be worth us shopping in PG
