Question 1. What do think is good about the area?
Good – transportation is good. Bus and rail connections very convenient. There is a sense of community though I do sense this needs to be maintained (improvements on the horizon)
Question 2. What do you think is less good about the area?
Less good – night time can feel slightly “edgy” especially close to McDonalds. Improvements could be made to choice of shops .
Question 3. What would you like to see to improve the area?
Improve - more individual shops. Improvements to triangle. Make the information board more up to date. Current information. Perhaps a clock.
Question 4a. Specific aspects – traffic
Traffic – green lanes will always be a busy road. The Hazelwood junction is busy and does lend itself to road rage!
Question 4b. Specific aspects – parking
Parking –I live local so primarily walk
Question 4c. Specific aspects – clutter
Clutter – the last instalment of street furniture was badly placed. The pavements are very untidy and cluttered
Question 4e. Specific aspacts – type and range of shops
Type of shops –encourage “shop local” give shop owners cheaper rent. This should definitely be the case for independent shops . they need all the help they can get.
Question 4g. Specific aspects – the Triangle public space
Triangle –how about a clock? Clear the mess. Benches with flowers. Removal of the toilets or redevelopment of.
I have since revisited the triangle and noticed that the information board has gone. The space is much bigger than I thought it was. I also noticed how fantastic the sign posts are. They are original by the look of it and I feel should be retained. This perhaps is an example of how people do not always notice what is around them. Sometimes things are not “missed” / appreciated until they are gone.
Question 4h. Specific aspects – Greenery
Greenery – we need more. They always make a place look better.
