Question 1.  What do think is good about the area?

Ruth Winston Centre; the park (Broomfield); the station allowing quick access to central London and beyond. Good and frequent bus services. Aldermans hill still fairly smart / Baskervilles and Waitrose

Question 2.  What do you think is less good about the area?

– the area from the triangle, ie green lanes has become very shabby and down market due to poor selection of shops. Groups of men hanging around the betting shops etc. bit sleazy.

Question 3. What would you like to see to improve the area?

quality and variety of shops enabling one to shop locally. Only decent shops other than food shops are Westlakes, smiths, Clarks, H&B

Question 4a. Specific aspects – traffic

– traffic does not really impact on PG or put off pedestrians. 20 mph would be good in residential roads.

Question 4b. Specific aspects – parking

no comment as I walk.

Question 4c. Specific aspects – clutter

railings are there to protect – especially children and the elderly (especially outside station). Welcome to our town centre signs are too low and impair vision. Dangerous

Question 4d. Specific aspects – look of the shops/architecture

too many coffee shops, hairdressers, betting shops. Greedy landlords not worried about variety – just getting their rent. Need to go elsewhere to shop.

Question 4e. Specific aspacts – type and range of shops

need for extra as people do not go window shopping

Question 4f. Specific aspects – amount and use of pavement space

Question 4g. Specific aspects – the Triangle public space

needs plants / benches under new tree

Question 4h. Specific aspects – Greenery

see above. Planters outside HSBC and Barclays need smartening up

Any other comments

– I know of a hairdresser who wants to relocate to N21. Fed up with N13. Feel unsafe due to unsavoury people wandering along green lanes. Palmers Green has gone downhill over the last 25 years. Urban decay spread up green lanes from Haringey.
