While we admire and support the Christmas campaigns that we see pop up in December, we also know that help is urgently needed all year round, each and every year. As some people pack away after the festive break, we are still here.
Our support is not limited to a food package, but it leaps beyond - we form connections, we listen and respond to everyone who steps through our doors. We open up a warm, safe, environment which aims to feel like a home away from home.
For us to continue to thrive and grow, and keep supporting as many people as possible, we are asking you to become a Friend of Cooking Champions. Even a donation of just £5-10 per month can make a HUGE impact on the lives of those who come through our doors.
Pop to our People's Fundraising page to donate, and we promise to keep you updated with how your support is making a difference. Thank you, we appreciate you! Team Cooking Champions

I have previously expressed concern about the effects of changes along the A105 on bus travel. This didn't seem to me to be being properly considered in what is still predominantly a debate between cyclists and those concerned about car parking.
It has taken some time to get a response from TfL to what seemed to be three key issues; the potential effects on bus journey times, getting on and off buses, and the removal of the bus stop outside the Fox.
Well here's the response. The sections in.......

Why not use a different route?
Why put the route on the A105, why not use an alternative?

Through the hatch of her café on Platform 1 of Palmers Green Station, Annita Correia sees and hears the early morning world passing by.
Platform 1 is a gem of a short film made by Jessica Bishop and shown as part of Talkies Community Cinema Here film festival earlier this year.
For the 2016 Here Film Festival Talkies, in conjunction with Short Sighted Cinema, will again be commissioning four short films:

On the Cycle Enfield website the introductory page for the A105 consultation has been revised and now has a "visualisation" of how Palmers Green Triangle might look after implementation of the cycle lanes scheme. The option that is illustrated is the one that retains the Triangle traffic island.
As the Council has emphasised from the outset, the proposals include improvements not just for cyclists, but also for other road users. The Triangle proposals, for example, would provide.......
Congratulations to Phillip and the whole Palmers Green Festival team for yet another brilliant Festival. How did they manage to get the weather to cooperate so well?
The photos below say more about the Festival than any amount of words. These are just a few from a big selection in the official Festival Photo Gallery. See if you can spot yourself there!
Do you have a great photo that you took yourself? If so, you can upload it to our forums or Facebook page........
