The Palmers Scream Team have announced the names of the winners of the Spooky Stories Competition - three each from Walker School and Hazelwood School.
The young spooky storytellers's tales of strange happenings were chosen from 200 entries. The judges were impressed by the inventiveness and imagination shown by all children in their stories. They commented: "We never knew our area could be so spooky!"
The prizes will be presented at a ceremony on 20th September.

The competition is part of an effort to foster creativity and merriment in response to the message of the mysterious "Palmers Scream" manuscript that was discovered earlier this year. It's understood that something unusual will be occurring in Broomfield Park on Halloween.
