The Dugdale Centre has awoken from its long enforced period of inactivity. The new opening hours are 11am to 3pm Monday to Friday. So far the Café, Gift Shop and Gallery have reopened, and on 14th July they will be followed by the Museum and Local Studies Centre. The gallery plays host to a new exhibition by Palmers Green artist Patrick Samuel celebrating what he enjoyed about lockdown and his eagerness to to paint during the period of isolation

Our area has a rich selection of restaurants and take away outlets. We have had a huge choice of global cuisines from which to choose. But overnight all were forced to close - to limit the spread of the coronavirus. Imagine how desolate our area would be if, when the restrictions are eventually lifted, many were never to open again.

Enfield Veg Co, based at Forty Hall Farm, delivers weekly bags of fresh, organic veg to households all over Enfield and East Barnet. The Covid-19 emergency means that some of its usual dropoff points, such as Baskervilles in Palmers Green, are unavailable, but it is setting up temporary replacements located nearby. They are currently taking on new members on a first come, first served basis and are accepting up to 10 new members per week.

There was a time when the only place where you could drink the Bohem beers was in the street at the monthly Myddleton Road Market or at the Prince, in Trinity Road, Wood Green. Then Bohem opened their own Tap Room, which you can visit seven.......

The latest Palmers Green Tales short film, made by Jenny Bourke and Susan Mehmet, tells the story of Old Bakery Gin. It's filmed at the former flour store in Pymmes Mews which plumber Ian Puddick discovered had been an illegal distillery in Victorian times.
As well as the high-end stockists mentioned in the film, Old Bakery Gin is now available in some local venues, including My Time in Palmers Green and the Winchmore in Winchmore Hill Road.

The vineyard says that London Sparkling Brut is perfect for Christmas drinking, but will also develop well with ageingForty Hall Vineyard has launched London Sparkling Brut 2015 - the first time a sparkling wine from the organic vineyard in Enfield has been made widely available. The 2014 vintage was declared best organic sparkling wine at the Soil Association's Best of Organic Market awards.
London Sparkling Brut is made in the traditional method from the three classic champagne.......

Less than five months after opening its own Tap Room in Myddleton Road, Bowes Park's Bohem Brewery has had to install new brewing equipment to cope with demand for its authentic Czech lagers.
The brewery is located in a former shop in Whittington Road. The opening of the Tap Room in April and the resultant increase in sales meant that brewer Petr Skoček was able to give up his other job as a dustcart driver to concentrate on his real vocation.

Splendour & Sparkle will be launching "Cooking Champions" in September 2017 - cooking lessons for children with an emphasis on healthy living.
Lessons will take place at Palmers Green United Reformed Church (Fox Lane/Burford Gardens) on Thursday afternoons. Times will be as follows:
Preschool 2pm-3pm
5 to 9 year olds 3:15pm - 4:15pm
11 to 14 year olds 4:30pm - 6pm

Part of Andrea Aste's Myddleton Road mural inside the TaproomLast Friday saw a further notable development in the continuing revival of Bowes Park's Myddleton Road - the opening of the nearby Bohem Brewery's own Taproom, serving beer from the UK's only Czech brewery.
While both taproom and brewery are in the N22 postal district, the stretch of Whittington Road that the brewery is located in is actually on the Enfield side of the boundary with Haringey borough, so arguably part of Palmers.......
