The shaded area shows the extent of Arnos Grove ward

On 4th May Southgate Green Safer Neighbourhoods Team issued a call for more people to volunteer for places on the ward panel (also referred to by the obsolete designation CAPE) for the new Arnos Grove ward:

"Yesterday we had our CAPE meeting and a new chair was elected. Mr Tom Mautner is our new CAPE chair. We discussed about the concerns that most affect  Arnos grove ward community and welcomed four new CAPE members.

"With the new ward boundaries changes we have lost a number of our previous CAPE members. Do you live, work or study on  Arnos Grove Ward? Are you representative of an organisation in Arnos Grove? Would you like to represent your road?

"We are looking for new members to attend ward panel meetings. What is a CAPE you may ask? A CAPE is a group of community members and partner agencies that meets with a representative of the Safer Neighbourhood Team to set local SNT ward priorities and to talk about and problem solve issues affecting the community. If you are interested and haven’t already done so please send us an email: ."

While we admire and support the Christmas campaigns that we see pop up in December, we also know that help is urgently needed all year round, each and every year. As some people pack away after the festive break, we are still here.

Our support is not limited to a food package, but it leaps beyond - we form connections, we listen and respond to everyone who steps through our doors. We open up a warm, safe, environment which aims to feel like a home away from home.

For us to continue to thrive and grow, and keep supporting as many people as possible, we are asking you to become a Friend of Cooking Champions. Even a donation of just £5-10 per month can make a HUGE impact on the lives of those who come through our doors.

Pop to our People's Fundraising page to donate, and we promise to keep you updated with how your support is making a difference. Thank you, we appreciate you! Team Cooking Champions
