NHS London have partnered with Transport for London (TfL) to launch a poetry competition for young Londoners, aged 12-15, to reflect on how their lives have changed since vaccinations were rolled out in the capital over a year ago. The competition seeks to give young Londoners the opportunity to talk about their experiences and what their hopes are for the year ahead. The top ten poems selected will be printed and put up at the author's local tube station.

The London Child Obesity Task Force wants to get all primary and secondary school children across London to only drink water when they're in school. This would put an end to selling and drinking fizzy drinks in London's schools. They are running a competition asking primary and secondary school children to help develop an advertising campaign - one that can inspire everyone between the ages of 4 and 18 in London to drink only water in school.

Chickenshed has opened booking for the autumn season of Sunday Shed workshops for kids, whether little or big (ages 5 to 18). These are drop-in sessions designed to spark an interest in many aspects of performance - acting, dance, music - and develop skills and confidence (not to mention having a lot of fun on the side).

Two years ago Palmers Green resident Joseph, then aged 14, wrote a highly personal and persuasive letter to his local councillors suggesting that young people would greatly benefit from a skate park in Broomfield Park. A group of local parents have now begun a campaign to fulfil Joseph's vision and have launched an online petition. Friends of Broomfield Park have said that they would welcome a feasibility study and more detailed proposals and will be interested to hear what their members and other local residents think about the idea.

Sian Berry, one of two Green members of the London Assembly, has issued her fifth report on cuts to youth services in the capital. Her data shows that, after nearly a decade of austerity, councils in London are still feeling forced to take money out of vital youth services with a further £2.2m removed. Enfield's youth services budget for 2019-20 amounted to a mere 14 per cent of the amount budgeted for 2011-12.
