Local gastro-charity Cooking Champions will be providing a Moulin Rouge Outdoor Dining Experience in Broomfield Community Orchard on 3rd September, designed to match the theme of that evening's open-air screening of Baz Luhrman's 2001 romantic film of the same name.

Help keep Zebras Children's Club running

Enfield charity Zebras, which supports adults and children with learning disabilities, has launched an appeal for money to keep its Children's Club in operation. This is a unique inclusive club for children with disabilities and their siblings and has been running since 2015, but the pandemic has severely impacted the charity's fundraising.

On 21st August the Nightingale Cancer Support Centre will be celebrating 19 years of work to help cancer patients and their families. They'd love to invite you round to their offices in Baker Street for a birthday party, but there just isn't room for everyone and at the moment celebrating is best done outdoors. So they're inviting you to help them celebrate by getting together with family, friends, work colleagues, neighbours (anyone!) and going for a 10 kilometre walk to raise some much needed funds.

Denim for Dementia and curing the care system

This year Dementia Action Week runs from 17th to 23rd May, with Denim for Dementia day on the Friday. PG resident Matt Wegner is a volunteer fundraiser for the Alzheimer's Society and is keen to get the local community and local groups engaged in raising money to help support people affected by dementia and in promoting a UK-wide campaign to Cure the Care System.

Learn pottery skills at home and help a rather special charity

The charity Maxability runs ceramics, pottery, art and photography classes to help physically or learning disabled adults to discover and develop their latent talents and artistic abilities. Local community interest company (CIC) Cooking Champions are offering another menu for home delivery or takeaway, and this time the theme is Middle Eastern. All profits go towards funding the various community food projects that Cooking Champions are involved in. Since the pandemic arrived, Cooking Champions have provided thousands of hot meals for people who need them.
