It's just after a year since the Palmers Greenery Community Cafe opened in Broomfield Park - but work on this imaginative project goes back much longer. It has transformed an abandoned toilet building into a top destination for visitors to the park. Latest Pinkham Way Alliance briefing - July 2015 North London Waste Plan – to be considered by Haringey on Tuesday, July 14th . The draft plan is going through the 7 Councils’ Cabinets/Committees . It is being considered/approved for consultation, which will start at the end of July and finish end-September. This is still quite an early stage – adoption of the plan is not scheduled until Autumn 2017, so there’s plenty of excitement.......

A brand new reed bed is being constructed in Grovelands Park lake to help improve water quality. The reed bed is being created as part of Thames21’s Salmons Brook Healthy River Challenge together with Enfield Council. The aim of the project is to improve water quality across the area through the delivery of practical environmental schemes. Currently Salmons Brook and the waterways which feed it suffer from pollution due to plumbing misconnections and run-off from roads which contain heavy.......

The organisers of the Save the Green Dragon campaign have reported that their email account has been attacked by hackers and are asking supporters to resend messages. It is unclear whether this is an example of the "normal" type of Internet crime or a deliberate attempt to sabotage the campaign. During June hackers broke into the email account and diverted messages sent to the campaign to another email address that the hackers control. As a consequence, the Campaign did not receive.......

Despite rain earlier in the day, the Proms in the Park season got off to a hot and sunny start on Sunday afternoon. A pleasant atmosphere prevailed as music lovers sat on the grass near the Broomfield Park bandstand to listen to music by North London Brass, with an intermission provided by young drummers from BishBashBosh and BoxBeaters. Enfield Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), together with Barnet, Camden, Haringey and Islington CCGs, are proposing to commission NHS 111 and GP out-of-hours as a combined service. They are inviting members of the public to give feedback. The CCGs' preferred option is to let a contract with a single provider who would cover both services for patients in all five boroughs.
