Presumably this was all printed on the other side of the big bus which said we’d be getting £350m extra a week for the NHS?

Huge excitement at PG station today for the few of us who missed the 11:55 and were waiting for the 12:10. A "Next train not stopping here " announcement followed, but it did, and it was one of the new rolling -stock, with a large core of high viz wearing gents in a forward carriage and everyone looking very smug. By the time I sorted my camera out it was leaving, but they do exist! Pretty smart looking things too, albeit that's pre graffiti and feet on seats impact. Next question - when and with what implication for the current, temporary, timetable.

The GN timetable claims that from 10 Dec they will run four trains an hour on weekdays though only two an hour at weekends . This timetable runs to May.

Passengers are advised to wear dark glasses to stop them being blinded by the fresh new paintwork after so many years of dinginess. Be aware too that it may even be possible to see out of the windows when the sun is shining, as there won't be enough dried-on raindrops to protect us from the outside world.

Is the weekend frequency due to increase in May? Last I saw they had dropped the proposition of 4 trains an hour on Sundays from the first consultation, but still intended 6 trains an hour on Saturdays. There is no increase on the December timetable.

The umpteenth new timetable for Palmers Green this week but still the same old shocking service. Both the 12.10 and 12.40 cancelled into London. Surely they should've lost their franchise?

Most likely due to rain on the line. I wonder if Secretary of State, and what a state it undoubtedly is, Grayling will order an inquiry to determine who should carry the can of responsibility.

Yet more cancellations. We currently have a half-hourly northbound service. Pathetic! When will things improve?

While we admire and support the Christmas campaigns that we see pop up in December, we also know that help is urgently needed all year round, each and every year. As some people pack away after the festive break, we are still here.

Our support is not limited to a food package, but it leaps beyond - we form connections, we listen and respond to everyone who steps through our doors. We open up a warm, safe, environment which aims to feel like a home away from home.

For us to continue to thrive and grow, and keep supporting as many people as possible, we are asking you to become a Friend of Cooking Champions. Even a donation of just £5-10 per month can make a HUGE impact on the lives of those who come through our doors.

Pop to our People's Fundraising page to donate, and we promise to keep you updated with how your support is making a difference. Thank you, we appreciate you! Team Cooking Champions
