Karl Brown, chair of the Palmers Green Ward Panel (CAPE), provides advice about ways of reporting crime.

We can each have a role in protecting ourselves, our community and to help the police to do likewise. Here’s a list of things we can easily undertake.

Reporting and other helpful things to do

Reporting crime and also incidents such as crazy driving and suspected drug dealing at the end of your street

met police and owl logos

The advice to CAPE was to simply use what you were most comfortable with (emergency aside).

What to report?

A recent OWL advice suggests thinking about:

  • People (descriptions).
  • Vehicles (colour, make, number plate).
  • Location (road name, junctions, landmarks).

Contact your safer neighbourhoods team

Go to www.met.police.uk,  pop your post code in the Find your area box and you can contact your SNT team, as well as see local crime stats.

PG SNT team can be contacted via or  020 8721 2835 (not 24hr).

What about keeping in touch and up to date?

Police feeds contain crime prevention advice, often based on what is happening or is seen as a particular risk at that moment of time. OWL is the system Enfield police use to communicate with residents regarding crime prevention ideas, what's happening, police meetings, events, arrests in your area, crimes in your area etc..

Visit www.owl.co.uk/met to sign up for email contacts. Alternatively, the OWL app is available free from app stores.

PG SNT (and other ward SNTs) produce regular newsletters. Pop them an email and ask to be added to the mailing list or look out for their posting on this PG Community website.

While we admire and support the Christmas campaigns that we see pop up in December, we also know that help is urgently needed all year round, each and every year. As some people pack away after the festive break, we are still here.

Our support is not limited to a food package, but it leaps beyond - we form connections, we listen and respond to everyone who steps through our doors. We open up a warm, safe, environment which aims to feel like a home away from home.

For us to continue to thrive and grow, and keep supporting as many people as possible, we are asking you to become a Friend of Cooking Champions. Even a donation of just £5-10 per month can make a HUGE impact on the lives of those who come through our doors.

Pop to our People's Fundraising page to donate, and we promise to keep you updated with how your support is making a difference. Thank you, we appreciate you! Team Cooking Champions
