In this most recent YouTube update, Professor Tim Spector from the Zoe Covid Symptom Study gives a very downbeat assessment of the current status of the pandemic and anti-Covid measures in England. The title he has assigned to this episode - 'Freedom fails as COVID cases surge amidst new variant' - presumably reflects what he thinks, but doesn't say overtly, about the effect of declaring 'Freedom Day' and the subsequent 'complacency' leading to abandonment of masking and social distancing by a significant proportion of the population.

New poverty report shows London and low-income communities disproportionally affected by COVID-19

Commissioned every year by Trust for London and WPI Economics, London's Poverty Profile provides evidence and insight on poverty and inequality in London. This year's report looked at the distribution of health impacts, as well as considering how work, living standards and wellbeing have been impacted. It shows that London has been hit particularly hard, both in terms of citizens' health and its economy, compared to other parts of England. It also reveals that those living on the lowest incomes in the Capital have been disproportionally affected.

The People's Covid Enquiry: Session 1

The North Central London Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) are asking local people to help support them by: continuing to observe simple clear public health advice to stay at home; only calling 999 and using A&E for emergencies and life threatening situations only and to contact your GP or NHS111 for urgent care advice; waiting to be contacted by the NHS when it's your turn to receive the Coronavirus vaccination (you do not need to contact your GP practice or other NHS services to make this happen)
