Calling local artists and teachers: Create a schools art project to help the Broomfield House Trust

The Lanscroon Murals in Broomfield House before the fires. The staircase at the Beaumont Care Home in Southgate also has murals by the same artist. The Broomfield House Trust is hoping to work with local artists, teachers and schoolchildren on a project that would promote a lifelong love of art and learning while at the same time contributing to the Trust's multipronged efforts to raise funds to restore Broomfield House. The project would be be run along similar lines to Take One.......

Artist Gabriela Schutz has been working on two detailed panoramas of shopfronts and houses in Myddleton Road, Bowes Park, executed in pencil, and each 7.2 metres long.  They will go on show at Bruce Castle Museum in May. The Friends of Broomfield Park launch their 2017 season of special events in Broomfield Conservatory this Sunday, starting with a Sketching Workshop. The Spirals of Life final show of ceramic sculptures is now on in Broomfield Park conservatory. Most of the previous sculptures are back, with a few new ones (look out for the Venus baby-trap!). During April the theme for the Spirals of Life exhibition in Broomfield Conservatory is Bamboo and Grass.  "Botanical sculptures" created by Cathy Taylor and June Dawes can be seen nestling among the normal plants in the flower beds. Spirals of Life: Last chance to see the ferns and lilies

Easter Sunday is the last Sunday in March and therefore the last chance to see this month's Spirals of Life sculptures in Broomfield Conservatory before they give way to the April exhibits. The March exhibits are sculptures of lilies and ferns created by Cathy Taylor and June Dawes. An astonishing tour of architectural and artistic delights

The video below, released in connection with an exhibition at Bruce Castle Museum, is a beautifully filmed and soberly narrated tour of the architectural and artistic delights to be found within churches in Tottenham, Hornsey, Stamford Hill, Noel Park and Harringay.  The buildings date from the middle ages right through to the 1990s - but the modern buildings contain some astounding items salvaged from demolished buildings. Last year over 600 people visited All Saints, Edmonton, for a glorious week of poetry, music, theatre and a wide range of other events. New oil painting course starts this month

A new locally based arts festival is running essay and photographic competitions which will be open only to Enfield residents or students at schools in the borough. Palmers Green artist warns of dangers of intolerance

An art exhibition opening later this month at the Dugdale Centre is not entitled Watch Out! for nothing. It will comprise some 20+ paintings by Moshe Galili, a Palmers Green resident and Holocaust survivor, who fears that a neo-Nazi movement currently developing in his native Hungary and elsewhere in the former Soviet bloc could revive some of the horrors that he himself lived through as a young man.
