The November issue of Enfield's community newspaper is now available from several hundred locations across the borough, so go and pick up your copy. You can also get it delivered to your door by becoming a member or read it online.

As editor James Cracknell explained at last month's Enfield Voices social event, obtaining the income needed to keep publishing a printed newspaper is not easy these days, but he was optimistic about the prospect for the Dispatch. We can all help by becoming members - not expensive - and by raising awareness of the paper, which will help bring in advertising.

What's in the November Enfield Dispatch?

enfield dispatch nov 2019In this month's edition our top story is a row over housing affordability as Enfield Council signs a major new homes deal at Meridian Water.

On Page 5 a scout group celebrates 60 years in Southgate.

On Page 8 a merger of five local NHS groups is described as a ‘farce’ by the president of Enfield Over 50s Forum.

On Page 12 find out what’s in store at Chickenshed this festive season.

While we admire and support the Christmas campaigns that we see pop up in December, we also know that help is urgently needed all year round, each and every year. As some people pack away after the festive break, we are still here.

Our support is not limited to a food package, but it leaps beyond - we form connections, we listen and respond to everyone who steps through our doors. We open up a warm, safe, environment which aims to feel like a home away from home.

For us to continue to thrive and grow, and keep supporting as many people as possible, we are asking you to become a Friend of Cooking Champions. Even a donation of just £5-10 per month can make a HUGE impact on the lives of those who come through our doors.

Pop to our People's Fundraising page to donate, and we promise to keep you updated with how your support is making a difference. Thank you, we appreciate you! Team Cooking Champions
