While we admire and support the Christmas campaigns that we see pop up in December, we also know that help is urgently needed all year round, each and every year. As some people pack away after the festive break, we are still here.
Our support is not limited to a food package, but it leaps beyond - we form connections, we listen and respond to everyone who steps through our doors. We open up a warm, safe, environment which aims to feel like a home away from home.
For us to continue to thrive and grow, and keep supporting as many people as possible, we are asking you to become a Friend of Cooking Champions. Even a donation of just £5-10 per month can make a HUGE impact on the lives of those who come through our doors.
Pop to our People's Fundraising page to donate, and we promise to keep you updated with how your support is making a difference. Thank you, we appreciate you! Team Cooking Champions

Vehicle Idling Action are recruiting volunteers to become Clean Air Champions in twelve London boroughs - including Enfield.
Join our Vehicle Idling Action campaign and be part of a movement to bring much needed positive environmental changes to our communities. Palmers Green is to be the trailblazer for a project which will return to children some of the independence that has been taken away from them in recent years.
London's first Play Quarter will build on the existing Play Street schemes in and around Palmers Green - in Devonshire Road, Old Park Road, New River Crescent, Riverside, The Mall and Orpington Road. Those streets are now not only home to more active, happy children with new friends next door, but they have also become friendlier,.......
A newly formed group of concerned Enfield residents is monitoring changes to NHS services in the borough and plans to form a focus for resistance to further cuts and privatisation.
Members of "Defend Enfield NHS" are particularly concerned about the severe cost-cutting measures that are being forced upon the organisation that purchases all health services in the borough - the Enfield Clinical Commissioning Group (Enfield CCG).
"More difficult to qualify for treatment"

This week's meeting of Enfield's Cabinet will be asked to approve proposals for changes to the procedures for processing applications for land or buildings to be registered as Assets of Community Value.
The concepts of "Asset of Community Value" and "Community Right to Bid" were introduced by the Localism Act 2011. While the main principles are set out in the Act, local authorities have been left to devise their own procedures for assessing nominations. External consultants.......
Roadworks aren't usually popular with residents. So workers in Ridge Avenue, Winchmore Hill, had a surprise on Friday morning when local parents came to say “Thank you for the bike lanes”, bringing with them a cooked breakfast.
Palmers Green residents Clare Rogers, Claire Brady and Maggie Westhead, who all have children at schools in the borough, brought bacon rolls, pastries, tea, coffee and fruit juice for the workers' 10am tea break. They also displayed a homemade “Thank.......
You may have noticed that the Sponsored by Winkworth logos have gone from PGC. At the time the website was set up Nick Charalambous of Winkworth Palmers Green provided a generous amount of money to get us off the ground. We've now spent all the money, and costs are now low enough to carry on without sponsorship.
We're extremely grateful to Nick for his help and for not interfering in any way with the way the website is run. It's also worth pointing out that Winkworth Palmers.......
Bogus "guttering and roofing" firms are continuing to prey on householders in various parts of Enfield. Residents are warned not to be taken in, but to report any suspicious approaches to the police or Citizens' Advice Bureau.
We first passed on a message from the police about these criminals in July, but it was clear from a briefing given at last week's Palmers Green Ward Forum that the problem is ongoing and that the criminal gangs are not simply picking houses at random, but are.......

The owners of the Fox are not planning to demolish it, but rather to restore the external appearance of the building, which would accommodate a smaller, but "family-friendly" pub, and provide new housing on the upper floors and over the car park. Part of the ground floor would be separated off and converted into a retail or leisure unit. It is unclear whether the plans envisage the Fox continuing to have a function room.
This information was provided at last week's meeting of the.......
