Enfield Council is still seeking volunteers to work in its libraries, most of which are now categorised as "community libraries".

Library lovers sought to be Enfield Heroes
Library lovers are being sought to volunteer in Enfield Council's community libraries so that we can continue to offer a first rate service across the borough.
Enfield's 13 community libraries are run mainly by volunteers and Enfield Council has launched a recruitment drive, under its Enfield Heroes Campaign, to get as many people as possible to volunteer so that opening hours can be as reliable and comprehensive as possible.
Enfield Council's Cabinet Member for Education, Children's Services & Protection, Cllr Ayfer Orhan, said: "Enfield wants to provide the best possible library service for our residents and that means we are always ready to welcome volunteers willing to come forward, give some of their time and keep these important and highly valued services going.
"We need more volunteers, so if you love books, people and fancy whiling away a few hours a week in a diverting and fascinating setting, making friends and learning some new skills, we'd love to hear from you. We'll even provide full training.
"We'd love people to be an Enfield Hero and give up just two hours of their time a week."
Following the restructure of the library service, Enfield Council designated the four biggest and most popular libraries in the borough – Enfield Town, Edmonton Green, Palmers Green and Ordnance Unity Library, as hub/flagship libraries - which deliver a wide range of library services alongside community based activities.
The remaining 13 libraries were designated as community libraries. The Council will continue to run these libraries and library card holders will be able to use their account to access a wide range of library services. However the Council will be sharing premises in community libraries with other organisations to bring in income, share costs and provide added benefits to the local community.
