In recent weeks scarcely a day has gone by without new and very disturbing information about the crisis in the National Health Service. Ever longer waiting times in A&E departments, postponement of non-emergency operations, skilled surgeons having to waste their precious time waiting for beds to become available, hospital doctors buckling under stress, and so on - it seems that the tremendous.......
This energetic little robot will soon be seen round and about Palmers Green, a symbol of kids unplugged from their parents and free to play out.
"Unplugged in N13" will be the logo helping children identify Safe Points where they will be able to obtain a free Unplugged in N13 badge, speak to a responsible adult if needed, and occasionally pick up a healthy snack.
Unplugged and Safe Points are among the first ideas that have emerged from meetings between Catherine Nicholson of London Play and.......

Palmers Green and Southgate are blessed with the presence of one of London's best Blues clubs. Every Friday night St Monica's social club on Cannon Hill is transformed into "St Harmonica's" and plays host to some great musicians, some local, others from further afield, who play for free - the only money they take home is what goes into the collecting hat.
Entry to the club is also free - you just need to pay a membership fee of a mere £2.50 a year. And prices at the bar are as cheap.......
As reported earlier, Enfield Council will resume work on creating Quieter Neighbourhoods with the next few weeks. Although the residents-led workshop approach will now not be used and the Council will be coming up with proposals and seeking feedback, this still leaves room for residents to float their own ideas before the Council sets out theirs.
One resident of Old Park Road has done just that, and has produced some concept visualisations designed to spark up discussions with.......
According to a report on the Guardian website, the Litte Waitrose shop in Palmers Green is among six stores that Waitrose will be closing later this year.
The report further states that the company "hopes" to replace the Palmers Green store with a new store in Winchmore Hill - presumably a reference to the former Green Dragon pub, which is currently being extensively rebuilt, leaving litte more than the facade of the local landmark.
