The work of Palmers Green artist Anne Hutchings currently adorns the art gallery at the Southgate Club with a retrospective exhibition of her work produced using a variety of media. Anne says of her work, “Everything I see I think of in terms of a monochrome picture. My art is the result of an untidy mind and does not often have a theme. I usually work in graphite pencil, charcoal and pen and ink". The exhibition also includes many examples of Anne’s print making in drypoint and lino cut.
The pieces in the gallery are for sale and all have been beautifully framed in various woods by Ralph Hutchings. They are all very reasonably priced and, with characteristic generosity Anne and Ralph are giving 20% of all sales to the Southgate Club and also donating 50% to St Harmonica’s Blues Club. The entrance to the Southgate Club is in Chase Side Southgate (next door to the former police station) and the club opening times are:
- Mondays - Thursdays 5.00pm - 11.00pm
- Fridays: 3.00pm - 11.30pm
- Saturday 12.00noon - 11.30pm
- Sundays: 12.00noon - 8.00pm
