open studios 2014Less than a month to go till the 2014 Southgate and Palmers Green Open Studios & Art Trail.  If you're impatient to see some of the beautiful work produced by the participating artists and creatives, you can call in at the preview exhibition that opens this Wednesday (14 May) at Anthony Webb in Green Lanes.  And if you want to start planning your routes for Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th June, you can download a copy of the Trail Guide (printed copies will also be posted through people's doors in the near future).

The Trail starts at Southgate Circus and ends at Palmers Green Triangle - though you could of course do it in reverse, and if you want to visit all 26 locations you'll probably need to set aside both days.  The types of work on show include handmade baskets, furniture, knitwear, lighting, textiles and millinery plus fine art, ceramics, glass and leatherwear, and there are workshops for adults and children who want to have a go themselves.

This is a free event for visitors, but obviously takes money to organise.  Waitrose have included Open Studios as one of their Community Matters good causes for May, so you can help contribute by popping a green coin in the Open Studios box when you do your shopping.
