Visitors watching an art installation in the cafe at bloqs edmontonThe Melting Point exhibition will be held in the cafe at Bloqs in Edmonton

A call is going out to artists to submit up to three works each to an exhibition at Bloqs in Edmonton that will run between November and February. The theme: Melting Point.

The light at the end of the tunnel on a dark winter's nights. The cold and dark will thaw through is the theme for this group exhibition. Whether relating to the process of melting as one material becomes another such as metals, the science behind it all, the sentiment of moving forward, change and transformation, or a sense of hopefulness as dark turns into light. Whatever form it may be, we look forward to seeing your intriguing interpretations on the theme: melting point.

Artists from anywhere can apply, but particular weight will be given to people living in Edmonton and Enfield. There will be no charge, but any work sold will be subject to a commission. Full information is available on the CuratorSpace website.

While we admire and support the Christmas campaigns that we see pop up in December, we also know that help is urgently needed all year round, each and every year. As some people pack away after the festive break, we are still here.

Our support is not limited to a food package, but it leaps beyond - we form connections, we listen and respond to everyone who steps through our doors. We open up a warm, safe, environment which aims to feel like a home away from home.

For us to continue to thrive and grow, and keep supporting as many people as possible, we are asking you to become a Friend of Cooking Champions. Even a donation of just £5-10 per month can make a HUGE impact on the lives of those who come through our doors.

Pop to our People's Fundraising page to donate, and we promise to keep you updated with how your support is making a difference. Thank you, we appreciate you! Team Cooking Champions
