A great class for you to make a useful item and also recycled unused denim and fabrics. As long as you can use a sewing machine this is the class for you to advance your dressmaking skills. You will learn to make a 14 inch square tote bag using an old pair of jeans with either new material of your choice or scraps.

This one day course will explore a variety of techniques of free motion quilting. You will learn about the tools needed for successful quilting, how to set up your machine correctly, which threads and needles to use to get the best results, layering your quilt successfully and of course several different styles of free motion quilting using a free motion quilting foot.

Over the 2 weeks of this 2 part beginners course (no previous experience necessary) you will learn how to get to grips with the hook and yarn, work the foundation chain, double crochet, treble crochet, turning chain, simple pattern reading and basic finishing techniques. At the end of the course you’ll take away some small, fun items that you will have made.

Learn this effective yet simple design which uses a combination of knitting and crochet techniques. Tunisian Crochet (also known as Afghan) makes a dense and squishy fabric with a beautiful texture. This workshop is suitable for those who have never tried this technique before but have ‘ordinary’ double and treble crochet skills.


Corner-to-corner Crochet

Corner-to-corner crochet (C2C) is a technique that works (as you would expect!) from one corner to the other. You will learn how to crochet little ’tiles’ at a diagonal, increasing each row one tile at a time until your project is tall and wide enough, at which point you start decreasing.

If you need help with a sewing, patchwork, mending, knitting or crochet project whilst we are closed we are very happy to offer individual one-on-one video tuition and guidance (via Zoom) with our teachers in any of the sewing, knitting and crochet disciplines at £20 an hour tuition. No project is too big or small, we'd love to hear from you!
