lockdown blues pt 2 450pxIt's a return to lockdown for most of us, and St Harmonica's Blues Club is no exception. Fortunately, they didn't waste the few weeks that live music was able to return to the Southgate Club, and if you were there and would like to relive the events, or if you missed them, you now have a second chance. Thanks to the filming skills of Mark and Katie Hawkins, edited footage from the September and October gigs is gradually being uploaded to the St Harmonica's YouTube Channel.

Here's a taster: the Mark Harrison Band, filmed at the club on 9th October:

Download a local lockdown recording

tig trafford playing in palmerston roadDuring the first lockdown local musician Tig Trafford would help pass the time by coming out onto his doorstep in Palmerston Road, where he would play and sing for his neighbours.

You might know Tig from wassailing in Broomfield Community Orchard, or from Broomfield Blues, where he performed as part of That (BIgger) Blue Patch.

Tig has recorded one of his own songs, Camden Girl, which can be downloaded from Bandcamp. There's no charge to download, but you're asked to make a donation to the Rachel Marie Trafford Trust fund for research into Ohtahara syndrome, the condition from which Tig's daughter died in 1990. Tig wrote the song in the early 80s and recorded this version, which he arranged in conjunction with his son Joseph, during the first lockdown.

Not blues, but nonetheless recommended by St Harmonica's!
