all good bookshop logoA new cooperatively run bookshop in Wood Green will be hosting a double celebration later this month, to mark its official opening and to launch the paperback edition of a local author's debut novel.

The All Good Bookshop has been open for a couple of weeks, following a "soft launch", but a party to mark its official opening will be held on Friday 20th September, starting at 5pm, in Blue House Yard, just off Station Road and three minutes walk from Wood Green Station. Participants are promised "drinks, books and maybe even music" and "the plan is to go on as long as we can".

The party will also be celebrating the launch of the paperback edition of Our Child of the Stars, written by Bowes resident Stephen Cox.

Stephen Cox's cross-genre novel, about a childless American couple who adopt an alien in 1969, mixes science fiction with emotional family drama and has attracted positive reviews from across the journalistic spectrum, ranging from Weekend Sport ("An out of this world winner") to the Financial Times ("pleasing, big-hearted read") by way of Grazia, the Los Angeles Times and several more publications.

If you'd like a signed copy of the novel and a chance to meet Stephen but can't make the 20th, there will be another opportunity the following day, 21st September, when he'll be at Waterstones in Enfield Town between noon and 2pm.
