Broomfield Conservatory special openings and fundraising activities
The Conservatory is staffed by volunteers and is open every Wednesday and Sunday from 2.30 to 4.30. You can waatch our progress in developing the Conservatory, or look at the special plant collections. There is always something to see.
Admission is free, but our work is dependent on voluntary contributions, and these are always welcome.
Sunday 23 March - Chinese Brush Painting
A chance to try out your painting skills using an ancient Chinese technique.
Suitable for ages 14+
Sunday 13 April - Houseplant Sale
All manner of plants to keep indoors to provide interest and decoration in your home. Don’t forget your cash and a bag to take home your plants.
Sunday 11 May – Marc’s Music
A chance to hear local singer and songwriter Marc Harris
Sunday 18 May – Tomato Sale
A variety of tomato plants will be available for you to grow-on at home.
Sunday 25 May - Chilli Sale
Have you tried growing chillies? We will have a range of chilli plants for you to buy, grow and then use in your cooking.
Wednesday 28 May and Sunday 1 June - Tree trail
Half term Family activity tree trail around the park, starting from the Conservatory.
Sunday 6 July – Make a terrarium
Feel like your living room could do with some plant love? Terraria are enclosed glass containers with a beautiful display of slow-growing plants. Plant up your own terrarium. All ages, materials provided
Sunday 14 September - Live Music in the Conservatory
A relaxing and melodic afternoon of singing and guitar with local singer-songwriter Marc Harris.
From Sunday 19 October – Ceramics exhibition
Come and see how the trees of the park have inspired a local ceramicist.
