flyer for beyond the marginOn Thursday 7th July an evening of live music, poetry, theatre and craft workshops is set to launch the refurbished Fore Street Library in Edmonton under its new name of the Living Room Library.

Beyond the Margin will run from 6.30pm until 11pm and will be the first of a year-long programme of "Thursday Lates" and cultural events organised by Fore Street For All. It will be a celebration of our libraries and archives and of how we share knowledge as communities. Activities will include screen printing, zine making and live performances from Utter Jazz, Shane Delia, Write2Speak, Enfield Poets and young performers from Chickenshed Youth Theatre. There will be a food stall and drinks from Old Bakery Gin.

Fore Street For All brings together a number of Edmonton-based organisations, including community group REACT, Artist Hive Studios and architects Fisher Cheng. Fore Street For All will deliver an enriching programme of cultural events specific to Angel Edmonton and help reanimate the night-time economy of Fore Street. The new Living Room Library will be a hub for this programme and events. If you would like to get involved or find out more, please contact or visit www.forestreetforall.com.

Transformation of Fore Street Library into the Living Street Library is part of a wider £2.2million joint investment from Enfield Council and the Mayor of London to support new facilities and initiatives in Angel Edmonton, one of the most socially-deprived parts of London. It features moveable bookshelves and flexible spaces so that the library can be used for a variety of different purposes.

Fore Street for All was established last year using £200,000 from a City Hall funding pot aimed at boosting high streets. Bringing different local groups together, it aims develop an arts and culture programme for Angel Edmonton.

While we admire and support the Christmas campaigns that we see pop up in December, we also know that help is urgently needed all year round, each and every year. As some people pack away after the festive break, we are still here.

Our support is not limited to a food package, but it leaps beyond - we form connections, we listen and respond to everyone who steps through our doors. We open up a warm, safe, environment which aims to feel like a home away from home.

For us to continue to thrive and grow, and keep supporting as many people as possible, we are asking you to become a Friend of Cooking Champions. Even a donation of just £5-10 per month can make a HUGE impact on the lives of those who come through our doors.

Pop to our People's Fundraising page to donate, and we promise to keep you updated with how your support is making a difference. Thank you, we appreciate you! Team Cooking Champions
