A large new park surrounding a reservoir in the east of the borough is being suggested. Apart from lots of green space and clean air, what else could there be in the Banbury Reservoir Park? Let the proposers have your ideas by filling in a five-minute survey.

Upper Edmonton is already short of green space relative to the number of people who live there, and an influx of people into new housing at Meridian Water will only make this problem worse. But a few minutes walk away is a large amount of wasted and unloved land surrounding the Banbury Reservoir. It's not suitable for housing, but it would make a wonderful new park, connected to the paths along the Lee Navigation that lead down to Tottenham and Walthamstow Marshes in one direction and out into Hertfordshire and Essex the other way. An escape valve for people living in dense housing on either side of the Lea Valley.

The idea of turning wasted and unsightly land near the reservoir into a park has been suggested by Enfield Climate Action Forum (EnCAF) and the London branch of the Campaign for the Protection of Rural England. As they see this very much as a community-led project they're keen to discover what local people would like to see in the new park. You can feed into this by taking part in a 5-minute survey.

In the film clip below (an extract from an online EnCAF meeting) Vicki Pite from EnCAF's land use group outlines the vision for Banbury Reservoir Park.
