Access to Palmerston from Whittingtonn Road and access from Palmerston to Whittington roads should be NO ENTRY.

This will facilitate reopening the right turn to bounds green road to get to muswell hil/l durnsford road without making a detour by turning left into clarence road and then right again ..

In order to avoid the north citcular rat run the bowes park residents were deprived of the right turn to muswell hill as there is only a left turn where whittington road meets bounds grreen toad.

There is a pelican crosssing between the whittington road /bounds green junction by thr petrol garage, this crossing should be moved to the whittington road bounds green junction with traffic lights with a right green illuminated arrow to turn eight , a green lit arrow to turn left , red to stop and allow traffic on bounds green road to flow either way.

we require a mini traffic junction at the top of whittington road

i would like to start a petition to min order to facilitate the above and would request some advice as to how to go about it , the haringey parking officials are not prepared to help as the no entry signs need to be appeoved by enfield , this has to be installed first and then it will be easier to reintroduce and persuade the powers that be in haringey to reopen the right turn on whittington road /harimgey end with traffic lights.

Traffic from bounds green road to palmerston speed at 50 mph occasionally , the NO ENTRY access both in and out will kill two birds with one stone.

This is really a discussion to be had in the Bowes & Bounds Connected forum http://bowesandbounds.org/forum. Bounds Green Road is definitely in their territory and you'll get more knowledgeable people reading it.

However, having said that, moving the pelican crossing from its current location would be very inconvenient for me and for many other people who walk from Bowes Park station to Bounds Green Road in order to catch a 221 bus towards Friern Barnet. As it is it takes long enough to get across Bounds Green Road because we have to wait so long for each of the two legs of the crossing to turn green. Moving the crossing would increase the distance and lead to more people risking crossing where there is no pedestrian crossing.

Thank You for your response Basil.

i dont understand why the walk should take any longer , instead of turning right and then crossing at the pelican crossing opposite the ptetrol station to get to the 221 bus stop , you would cross over at the top of ehittington road , but instead of turning right immediately at the top of whittington / bounds green jumction you would turn right after crossing at the whittington road ,
ie currently turn right then cross , instead it will be cross ,then turn right.
also i dont think it should be too difficult to move the busstop so that it is immediately to the right of the new crossing , soit is a shorter walk both when travelling out and returning home .
some pedestrians will find the newly positioned crossing (hopefully)if shopping at the tesco express ., until such time as we get a more conveniently sited tesco express in myddleton road.
Thanks Again

All this inconvenience, upheaval and no doubt substantial cost at a time when Councils are hard pressed for money.... just because drivers can't be bothered with a 30 second detour??!

When I lived there and wanted to head towards BG station along BG road, I just turned left and then turned around in Corbett Grove (thus ducking the no-u-turn).
