One more chance to see inside the Town Hall?

Sue Beard of Palmers Green Jewel in the North is suggesting that Palmers Green residents should have an opportunity to see the interior of Southgate Town Hall before the developers get their hands on it. She wrote to the Mayor of Enfield back in July suggesting this, but has never received a reply.

I think this is an excellent idea and I intend to write to the Council suggesting that they ask the new owners to arrange this as soon as possible. If a lot of people do the same, maybe they'll allow it. Perhaps we could get up a petition?

While we're on the subject of the Town Hall, what do people think about David Burrowes' statement that " Enfield Council has now sold off our family silver and short changed the people of Enfield Southgate "? Personally, I think this is a bit rich coming from a supporter of a government which has just sold off a far larger part of our family silver, ie the Royal Mail, and at a price which is almost universally recognised as well below its true value. I certainly don't remember seeing photographs of Mr Burrowes campaigning against the sale of our national postal service!
