London Futures: Building a new vision for London to 2050 and beyond

In some earlier post I had mentioned how it was best to input to consultations while open so as to better steer them rather than complain about any consequences after the resultant. Here’s a very current and likely influential study, with input opportunity in 2021. In their words:
“Working with leaders from across London, including the Mayor of London, London boroughs, national government, businesses, universities, charities and community groups we’re undertaking an ambitious, multi-year strategic review of the city to shape London’s future to 2050 and beyond. The London Futures review is a once in a generation opportunity to take a long term, strategic approach to the city. It is examining the state of London today, exploring different scenarios for London’s future and involving Londoners in creating a new shared vision for the city.”

Separately, but fair to say with some inevitably common threads, the mayor has this week written to the Secretary of State informing him that he has formally approved the London Plan. The SoS now has 6 weeks to respond and, subject to that, it will be published. It’s hugely significant in all of our lives.
