Huge turnout at yesterday's Apple Day in Broomfield Community Orchard - in the hundreds - and plenty of money raised towards maintaining the orchard. There was a fine line-up of local musicians and we were treated(?) to a recitation of the "shortest song in the world" by Ralph Hutchings. Thanks to David March and to all the other volunteers from the Orchard and the Conservatory.

The next Park event will be bulb planting on Sunday 30th October - fun for all the family. On Sunday 6th November there will be a house plant sale in the Conservatory . The next Orchard event will be Wassailing, on 15th January - sing, dance, drink and be merry while performing an ancient rite.
On 11th November a less ancient and rather more solemn rite will be taking place in the Garden of Remembrance - the annual Armistice Day service .

One of the visitors to the Orchard yesterday was so carried away with it all that they left behind a parcel with a Marks & Spencers label. If your name is Kings Daszewski, please contact .
