The fire that destroyed Aksular restaurant near Palmers Green Triangle on Tuesday was reported at 9.20am but not brought under control until 8pm. Ten fire engines were involved in tackling the blaze and one person was taken to hospital.
By no means the worst of more than 1100 incidents that the London Fire Brigade had to deal with on Tuesday - their busiest day since World War II. Across London more than forty houses and shops were destroyed by fires. Across the world the devastation caused by fire and flood is immense. Yet the climate crisis denying Daily Mail's front page on Tuesday shouted in huge headlines "Sunny day snowflake Britain had a meltdown" and put the words "extreme heat" in quotation marks. This utterly irresponsible "newspaper's" core mission is to help the rich grow richer still and hang the consequences for everyone else.

I feel sorry for people who are so brainwashed and brain dead to buy gutter rags like this.

Ducting fires in such premises are - unfortunately - quite a regular occurrence. Here's some advice from LFB:
"We'd like to remind restaurant and takeaway owners to ensure they don't have dirty ducting. If you don't clean the ducting in your extraction system regularly, you're at a greater risk of ducting fires.
"You should also make sure you keep the hob, cooker hood and extractor fan clean too – built up fat and grease can ignite and cause a fire."
The Daily Mail may, or may well be, a "gutter rag" and "climate crisis denying", but what's that got to do with the fire at Aksular?
If anyone has clear evidence that the Aksular fire was caused by Tuesday's high temperatures (at 9.20am?) then I'm sure the London Fire Brigade will be interested to hear it as part of their investigation.
As an aside Juvenal, the father of satire, might well have pointed out that the ambient temperature around the Triangle on Tuesday lunchtime was somewhat higher than the weather forecasters were telling us. Reason fairly obvious. Somewhat ironic that Aksular was adding to the situation that its predicament is being blamed on....
