The Big Give Christmas Challenge runs for a week from next Tuesday.

The Christmas Challenge utilises Big Give's  ‘pledge’ model of match funding. The Pledge model offers supporters of participating charities the opportunity to double their donations with match funding provided by a charity’s pledgers and Big Give’s Champions.

A multitude of good causes to choose from. Here are some local ones that you might consider donating to:

Chickenshed: Creative Pathways

An inclusive creative training programme, supporting children aged 11-18 years from all educational and social backgrounds to gather skills, knowledge and experiences to support their development as inclusive creative leaders of the future.

Here's another charity participating in the Big Give Christmas Campaign: Living Streets (formerly the Pedestrians Association). They've been campaigning for a better deal for people on foot since the 1930s and it was their campaigning that led to the introduction of zebra crossings and speed limits in built up areas.
