Forum topic: Petition launched: Enfield Council, clean our streets!

For five years since the current Enfield council administration, our borough has become a dirty shadow of its former self. It is filthy.

Waste services and street cleaning departments need to be put into special measures, as indeed do the council.

Our roads remain unswept, regular fly tips uncollected and environmental criminals unprosecuted.

The council website claims every street has its own cleaner - but they are not seen; streets remain unswept for weeks, months and sometimes years.

We pay extortionate council tax rates, due to rise by nearly five per cent - yet do not receive the basic service of a clean street to walk on. It is impacting increasingly on the well being of residents and wildlife is dying in litter filled canals and local green spaces infused with uncollected waste.

Please urge Enfield council to provide us with the basic service of regular street cleaning, fly tip removal and pro active responses to fly tippers who have blighted our borough.
