The following report and warning was posted on Twitter by Winchmore Hill Police on 19th August.
WHW, for the 2nd time in 7 days an elderly man has been tricked into thinking he was about to receive a parking fine at Lodge Drive car park. A 30yr old Mediterranean suspect wearing a white shirt somehow created a flash behind victim’s car as he drove in. He then told victim he was going to get a fine unless he cancelled it at the Palmers Green BR car park. So suspect jumps into victim’s car and guides him over to the BR car park. Victim lost 3 cards into the parking payment machine. Suspect later somehow obtained thousands of pounds from victim’s accounts. Victim is 74.
