noahsArk logoAt the Charity Today awards ceremony on 7th September Noah's Ark children's hospice was named Charity of the Year.

The awards celebrate and reward excellence within the not-for-profit sector, awarding the work done by charities and individuals who set new standards each year. The Charity Today Awards give charities the chance to tell their success stories to both national and regional audiences, regardless of their size, through the UK’s ‘most prestigious and diligent’ charity awards programme.

Noah’s Ark was awarded the ‘Charity of the Year’ gong, no doubt for having helped an increasing number of children and families year-on-year as well as raising funds for and completing its brand new hospice building, the Ark in Barnet.

Alison Goodman, Director of Income Generation and Communications at Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice, said:

“Winning Charity of the Year at the Charity Today Awards is testament to the brilliant work being carried out by the charity for children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions and their families. I would like to dedicate the award to the children and families; they inspire us every day.”

Thanks to Charity Today and its CEO Lee Rayment for recognising the hard work and dedication of Noah's Ark. Also, we would like to mention the three fellow charities nominated alongside us for their outstanding work  - Brake, the road safety charity, the Suzy Lamplugh Trust and Clear Sky Children's Charity.

While we admire and support the Christmas campaigns that we see pop up in December, we also know that help is urgently needed all year round, each and every year. As some people pack away after the festive break, we are still here.

Our support is not limited to a food package, but it leaps beyond - we form connections, we listen and respond to everyone who steps through our doors. We open up a warm, safe, environment which aims to feel like a home away from home.

For us to continue to thrive and grow, and keep supporting as many people as possible, we are asking you to become a Friend of Cooking Champions. Even a donation of just £5-10 per month can make a HUGE impact on the lives of those who come through our doors.

Pop to our People's Fundraising page to donate, and we promise to keep you updated with how your support is making a difference. Thank you, we appreciate you! Team Cooking Champions
