Crossrail 2: Councillors urge public to press for route via Alexandra Palace

All three councillors representing Winchmore Hill Ward have issued an appeal to residents of N13 and N21 to respond to the Crossrail 2 consultation by indicating a preference for the New Southgate branch to be routed via Alexandra Palace rather than Wood Green.  The consultation runs until 8th January. The two options for the New Southgate branch of Crossrail 2Councillors Barry, Hayward and Hurer have issued a leaflet explaining the advantages of a Crossrail 2 station at Alexandra Palace.......

Alternative routing proposed for Crossrail 2 New Southgate branch

Transport for London (TfL) is continuing to develop its ideas for the routing of the proposed Crossrail 2 rail link and is putting new proposals out for public consultation.  A recent development with implications for our readership concerns the routing of the spur between Dalston and New Southgate. The main section of Crossrail 2 will run in a tunnel between Tottenham and Clapham Junction, via Dalston, Angel, Euston/St Pancras, Tottenham Court Road, Victoria and Kings Road Chelsea. .......

Crossrail 2 may reach New Southgate

Last summer we reported on a consultation exercise relating to the route of the planned Crossrail 2 rail link between North London/Hertfordshire and South West London.  Subsequently TfL engineers have come up with a modified scheme, based on last year's "Regional Option", and are consulting again, but only in relation to the proposed changes. The changes to the earlier proposal comprise new options for stations in the Chelsea area and in Hackney and Dalston, but of most interest to.......

Public consulted about new Crossrail project

Members of the public have been invited to let Transport for London (TfL) know which of two options for a new underground line they would prefer. Both options for the Crossrail 2 line would provide new links from Alexandra Palace and Turnpike Lane stations to central London, Clapham Junction and Wimbledon. The cheaper of the two proposals, the Metro Option, would be for a light rail system with four-carriage trains similar to those running on the Docklands Light Railway, but running in a tunnel.......
