Poor service by new rail operator prompts complaints

03 January 2015

Since the Govia consortium took over services on the Great Northern routes out of Moorgate and Kings Cross in September 2014 there has been little sign of the promised improvements in service.  There have been more of the delays and cancellations that we are familiar with from the bad old days of First Capital Connect and the usual half-hourly service in Christmas week. Some of the problems can, of course, be laid at the door of Network Rail, but employing enough drivers is clearly Govia's.......

24 June 2014

Last summer we reported on a consultation exercise relating to the route of the planned Crossrail 2 rail link between North London/Hertfordshire and South West London.  Subsequently TfL engineers have come up with a modified scheme, based on last year's "Regional Option", and are consulting again, but only in relation to the proposed changes. The changes to the earlier proposal comprise new options for stations in the Chelsea area and in Hackney and Dalston, but of most interest to.......

Public consulted about new Crossrail project

05 July 2013

Members of the public have been invited to let Transport for London (TfL) know which of two options for a new underground line they would prefer. Both options for the Crossrail 2 line would provide new links from Alexandra Palace and Turnpike Lane stations to central London, Clapham Junction and Wimbledon. The cheaper of the two proposals, the Metro Option, would be for a light rail system with four-carriage trains similar to those running on the Docklands Light Railway, but running in a tunnel.......
