Louisa Constanti, a governor at Hazelwood Schools, has been in touch with a request to publicise the fact that the school is looking for new people, who don't need to have children at Hazelwood, to join the Governing Body. She also wants to remind the community that the school has facilities that can be hired out.

Hazelwood Schools - at the heart of Palmers Green

hazelwood schools logoHazelwood is a successful, friendly, over-subscribed school who take immense pride in thriving at the heart of a diverse and vibrant community. Hazelwood is a happy place, where every child is encouraged to ‘Believe and Achieve’. You can find out more about us here: www.hazelwoodschools.org.uk.

Hazelwood is proud to be part of Palmers Green life and we are always looking for ways to deepen our connections with the local community. Right now, we are looking for new governors, and we are offering the opportunity to hire our school buildings for events and local clubs.

New Community Governors

We are currently looking for new governors to join our friendly community of children, staff, parents and governors, to help us fulfil our vision. There are no particular qualifications you need and you do not need to be a parent of children at the school. What is most important is that you are part of the Palmers Green community and feel passionate about supporting local children. We also welcome anyone with a background in Health and Safety. It’s a voluntary role and really flexible - you can give as much or as little of your time as you are able.

If you are interested in finding out a bit more about what’s involved, please visit the Governors section on our website and fill in the contact form or email .

Hiring School Halls

Our school has a wide range of halls and spaces available for hire at the weekends and evenings. At the moment we host a number of community clubs. If you have a regular club or an event coming up and are interested in finding out more about the school facilities, please visit our Lettings section on our website or email

While we admire and support the Christmas campaigns that we see pop up in December, we also know that help is urgently needed all year round, each and every year. As some people pack away after the festive break, we are still here.

Our support is not limited to a food package, but it leaps beyond - we form connections, we listen and respond to everyone who steps through our doors. We open up a warm, safe, environment which aims to feel like a home away from home.

For us to continue to thrive and grow, and keep supporting as many people as possible, we are asking you to become a Friend of Cooking Champions. Even a donation of just £5-10 per month can make a HUGE impact on the lives of those who come through our doors.

Pop to our People's Fundraising page to donate, and we promise to keep you updated with how your support is making a difference. Thank you, we appreciate you! Team Cooking Champions
