A public exhibition about proposals to build a new secondary and new primary school (both academies) at Chase Farm will be held on Thursday 9th May (click here for details).  They would occupy land vacated by Chase Farm Hospital. The following information is taken from the project website (www.chasefarmschools.co.uk).

The Department for Education, One Degree Academy and the Wren Academy would like to invite you to a public exhibition to see the first stage in proposals for two new schools at Chase Farm.

The aim of the public exhibition is to hear the views and opinions of the local community ahead of submitting a planning application to Enfield Council.

Members of the project team will be available to answer any questions that you may have about the plans.

Please note that the proposals below are subject to planning permission being granted:

Wren Academy

This will be an 11-18, six form entry, mixed, Christian faith designated, secondary school with a sixth form. It would open with 184 pupils in September 2020 and grow to a max capacity of 1,280 students (920 in Years 7-11 and 360 in sixth form).

It will be part of the Wren Academies Trust which is sponsored by the London Diocesan Board for Schools (LDBS) and Berkhamstead School. The lead school in the trust, Wren Academy Finchley, was inspected by OFSTED in 2018 and rated Outstanding.

Subject to securing the necessary planning permission, we are hoping to open Wren Academy in temporary accommodation at Chase Farm in September 2020. The school will admit up to 184 year 7 pupils, and will add year groups annually thereafter. Under the proposals the school would be full by 2026.

We aim to have the permanent site for Wren Academy ready for occupation in 2022. The temporary site will be used for 2 years.

One Degree Academy

One Degree Academy is run by the Adnan Jeffery Academy Trust which opened in Enfield in September 2016 and currently operates from Heron Hall, Queensway. It will be approved as a three form entry primary with an overall capacity of 630 primary places and 90 nursery places.

One Degree Academy was inspected by OFSTED in February 2019 and rated Outstanding. The plan is to fully relocate One Degree Academy to Chase Farm in 2021.

If you are unable to attend but would like further information of the proposals, you will be able to find information after the public exhibition at www.chasefarmschools.co.uk.

While we admire and support the Christmas campaigns that we see pop up in December, we also know that help is urgently needed all year round, each and every year. As some people pack away after the festive break, we are still here.

Our support is not limited to a food package, but it leaps beyond - we form connections, we listen and respond to everyone who steps through our doors. We open up a warm, safe, environment which aims to feel like a home away from home.

For us to continue to thrive and grow, and keep supporting as many people as possible, we are asking you to become a Friend of Cooking Champions. Even a donation of just £5-10 per month can make a HUGE impact on the lives of those who come through our doors.

Pop to our People's Fundraising page to donate, and we promise to keep you updated with how your support is making a difference. Thank you, we appreciate you! Team Cooking Champions
