Proposals for construction of two schools and further housing on former hospital land at Chase Farm are currently being consulted on. The Enfield Society has posted the following information on its website.
This is a significant development involving a new primary school, a new secondary school and new housing. Because it is not possible to carry out a public exhibition, the developers have launched the public consultation website chasefarmdevelopment.co.uk
The website provides plans of the development and is part of the planning consultation prior to submitting a planning application. The application will seek full planning approval to the schools and outline planning approval to the housing. The Department for Education are leading on this project.
Once outline approval is obtained for the housing, that site will be passed to a housing developer. The Society is pleased to hear that the Clock Tower and the former mortuary building will be retained. The Clock Tower will be used for residential purposes and the consultation is seeking an appropriate use for the mortuary building.
We encourage people to review all of the material provided, ask the project team any questions and if they submit comments they may wish to copy them to the Enfield Society so that we can assess how the community engagement is developing.
The web-site provides the application information for you to review, ask questions and share your views including a digital exhibition display.
If you know of anyone in the community who has not got internet access please ask them to call our freephone number 0800 669 6319 or e-mail us on their behalf
