enfield society article about broomfield house

The start of an article about Broomfield House published in 2018 and now available online, alongside a further 50 or 60 articles on historic buildings.

Each edition of the quarterly newsletter published by the Enfield Society has one or more articles about historic buildings in the borough, many of them written by Stephen Gilburt. Over the years these have built up to form a rich resource for anyone interested in finding out about Enfield's history and heritage, but even though the newsletters are available online there has been no way of easily finding articles of interest. That is, until now. The Society has recently begun republishing the articles in web page format and has created an index on its new website. The index has direct links to the newly republished articles, and also links to PDF versions of the newsletters that they appeared in.

To give you a flavour of what's available, see the list for the first three letters of the alphabet at the bottom of this article.

Membership of the Enfield Society costs a mere £5 a year, for which you'll be able to attend two meetings a month for free, enjoy a regular programme of walks and receive the very informative quarterly newsletter.

While we admire and support the Christmas campaigns that we see pop up in December, we also know that help is urgently needed all year round, each and every year. As some people pack away after the festive break, we are still here.

Our support is not limited to a food package, but it leaps beyond - we form connections, we listen and respond to everyone who steps through our doors. We open up a warm, safe, environment which aims to feel like a home away from home.

For us to continue to thrive and grow, and keep supporting as many people as possible, we are asking you to become a Friend of Cooking Champions. Even a donation of just £5-10 per month can make a HUGE impact on the lives of those who come through our doors.

Pop to our People's Fundraising page to donate, and we promise to keep you updated with how your support is making a difference. Thank you, we appreciate you! Team Cooking Champions
