With both diesel and petrol cars responsible for an increasing proportion of harmful air pollution in London, the Clean Cities coalition of campaign groups is calling on all candidates in the council elections to commit to taking steps to reduce driving in the capital.
Ahead of May's council elections, the London Child Poverty Alliance are asking all those hoping to be elected or re-elected as councillors or mayors to publicly commit to working towards a child poverty free London.
A new report by CPRE London lists more than 60 parks and green spaces in the capital which it says are under threat. The list includes Green Belt land in Enfield and the former Whitewebbs golf course.
Ahead of the council elections on 5th May, Enfield voters are being invited by London Jewish Forum to an election hustings on 11th April at 8pm at an undisclosed venue in Southgate. Publicity for the event suggests that the only two politicians being scrutinised will be the leaders of the Labour and Conservative groups, Nesil Caliskan and Joanne Laban - no mention of the Greens or Lib Dems, both of whom currently are represented on Enfield Council
Enfield Wellbeing Network (EWN) is a collaboration between a number of local community organisations, which aims to enable people to set and achieve realistic goals to improve their health and wellbeing. The Network, which has been set up by Age UK Enfield, Enfield Carers Centre, and Mind in Enfield and Barnet, is available for free to people over 18 who are at risk of, or are managing, deteriorating health and wish to make positive changes and/or manage long term conditions.

NHS London have partnered with Transport for London (TfL) to launch a poetry competition for young Londoners, aged 12-15, to reflect on how their lives have changed since vaccinations were rolled out in the capital over a year ago. The competition seeks to give young Londoners the opportunity to talk about their experiences and what their hopes are for the year ahead. The top ten poems selected will be printed and put up at the author's local tube station.
Palmers Green Action Team is recruiting an artist to create a site-specific work to celebrate the life of celebrated poet and PG resident Stevie Smith. This will be one of the Stories of Enfield projects - community heritage activities that are receiving funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
Campaigners from Mums for Lungs say that the targets the government is setting in its consultation on air quality will not protect our children's health but will ensure another generation of kids with stunted lungs; it will not require government to take any short- or even medium-term action on reducing air pollution effectively. Enfield Council is planning to make changes to the Fox Lane and Bowes low-traffic LTNs, aimed at easing access for disabled people and emergency services. Some bollards will be replaced by camera-controlled restrictions and blue badge holders and dial-a-ride buses will be allowed to drive past them. In addition, the council is seeking views on the future of the restriction in Meadway and about possibly switching the access points for the Bowes LTN.
