posterIf you or your kids fancy a part in a panto, there will be plenty on offer in this year's SMP Theatre production of Cinderella. To find out more you can attend an introductory session and read-through on Monday 12th August and go along to auditions on 18th and 21st August.

Now that SMP Theatre (you might knew them better under the name St Monica's Players) can no longer use the Intimate Theatre to stage their annual pantomime, they've found a new venue - Chingford Assembly Hall. The Players would have preferred to stay at the Intimate, but every cloud has a silver lining, in this case the huge stage at the Assembly Hall, which will provide room for a bigger cast and a show that's more spectacular than ever.

This year the Players will also be recruiting boys and girls aged 8 and upwards to be part of a "kids' chorus".

The introductory night on Monday will take place at 8pm at Holtwhites Sport and Social Club, 1 Kirkland Drive, Enfield EN2 0RJ (turn right off Holtwhites Hill just before the railway bridge).

Auditions on Sunday 18th will be held from 10am to 12pm (for children) and from 12.30pm to 5.30pm for adults.  There will also be auditions for adults on Wednesday 21st from 8pm to 9.30pm.  Auditions will be held in the scout hut in the Walker Cricket Ground, Waterfall Road, Southgate, N14 7JZ.

For more information, see this Facebook event.

The show will run from 12th to 15th December at Chingford Assembly Hall.

While we admire and support the Christmas campaigns that we see pop up in December, we also know that help is urgently needed all year round, each and every year. As some people pack away after the festive break, we are still here.

Our support is not limited to a food package, but it leaps beyond - we form connections, we listen and respond to everyone who steps through our doors. We open up a warm, safe, environment which aims to feel like a home away from home.

For us to continue to thrive and grow, and keep supporting as many people as possible, we are asking you to become a Friend of Cooking Champions. Even a donation of just £5-10 per month can make a HUGE impact on the lives of those who come through our doors.

Pop to our People's Fundraising page to donate, and we promise to keep you updated with how your support is making a difference. Thank you, we appreciate you! Team Cooking Champions
