The organisers of the Fairer Funding for Enfield petition are looking for volunteers to spend a couple of hours collecting signatures at local shopping centres.
The deadline for the Fairer Funding for Enfield petition has been extended. We still need lots more signatures and are looking for volunteers prepared to give up a couple of hours of their time and specifically on Friday 5 May and Saturday 6 May collecting signatures at local shopping centres.
No special knowledge is needed – we can provide you with information on the campaign. Please contact the office on or 020 8807 2076.
The petition is a cross-political party petition calling upon central government to provide a fair share of funding to Enfield, using the latest data and not the “floor damping” scheme first introduced in 2002-2003 which has seen Enfield grants scaled back by around £100 million to help other, wealthier councils.
To collect signatures you don't need to be a member of the Over 50s Forum or, for that matter, be over 50, as the campaign is intended to benefit borough residents of all ages.
