Transport for London are proposing to introduce additional night bus services from September, including some which would provide new east-west connectivity between locations in north London.  The changes are planned so that travellers on Night Tube services will be able to travel on from tube stations to other destinations.

Routes 34 (Walthamstow-Edmonton-Palmers Green-Whetstone-Barnet) and 123 (Ilford-Walthamstow-Tottenham-Wood Green) would both run at half-hourly intervals throughout Friday night/Saturday morning and Saturday night/Sunday morning.  These two routes cross at Bell Corner in Walthamstow.

Route W3 links Finsbury Park, Wood Green, Tottenham and Northumberland Park and would also run half-hourly during the two weekend nights.

Complete information about the proposed new nght buses is available on the TfL Consultation Hub.  As the name suggests, this also gives you the opportunity to comment on the planned services (the deadline for comments is 1st July).

The weekends-only Night Tube service will start on 12th September:

  • Central line: Trains will run between Ealing Broadway and Hainault / Loughton (no service between North Acton and West Ruislip; Loughton and Epping; or Woodford and Hainault)
  • Jubilee line: Trains will run on the entire lineNorthern line: Trains will run on the entire line except on the Mill Hill East and Bank branches
  • Piccadilly line: There will be a service between Cockfosters and Heathrow Terminal 5 (no service on the Terminal 4 loop, or between Acton Town and Uxbridge via Rayners Lane)
  • Victoria line: Trains will run on the entire line.

More details are available on the TfL website.
