Healthwatch Enfield Listens

We recently heard from young people in Enfield that finding mental health services can be confusing. Many weren't sure what support was available or how to access it. In response, Healthwatch Enfield is proud to launch our new Mental Health Guide for Young People.

Made by Young People, for Young People

This guide isn't just another handout. We worked directly with young people in Enfield to understand their needs. With help from ECC Young Carers, the LGBT Network, and YCNN, we held focus groups to ensure the guide has the information you're looking for. We also partnered with ECYPS who held focus groups for us to gather even more insights from young people.

Get the Support You Deserve

While some services may have wait times, this guide is a starting point to connect you with organisations that can help on your mental health journey.

What's Inside?

  • Local Resources: Feeling anxious, stressed, or something else? Find Enfield-based services that can help.
  • 24/7 Support: Need help right away? The guide includes contact details for helplines and online resources available around the clock.
  • Support for Everyone: From eating disorders and LGBTQ+ support to suicide prevention, this guide covers a wide range of mental health topics.
  • Tips for Feeling Better: Developed with young people's input, this section offers practical tools and strategies to manage stress and anxiety in the moment. These tips come from young people who have used them to find balance in their own lives.

Who Can Use This Guide?

  • Young People: This guide is designed for young people age 11-25 years! If you live in Enfield and are looking for mental health support, this is a great place to start.
  • Parents & Carers: Worried about a young person's mental health? This guide can help you find resources and support for them.
  • Youth Workers & Professionals: Anyone working with young people in Enfield can benefit from this guide to better understand and support their mental health needs.

While we admire and support the Christmas campaigns that we see pop up in December, we also know that help is urgently needed all year round, each and every year. As some people pack away after the festive break, we are still here.

Our support is not limited to a food package, but it leaps beyond - we form connections, we listen and respond to everyone who steps through our doors. We open up a warm, safe, environment which aims to feel like a home away from home.

For us to continue to thrive and grow, and keep supporting as many people as possible, we are asking you to become a Friend of Cooking Champions. Even a donation of just £5-10 per month can make a HUGE impact on the lives of those who come through our doors.

Pop to our People's Fundraising page to donate, and we promise to keep you updated with how your support is making a difference. Thank you, we appreciate you! Team Cooking Champions
