Did you know that Palmers Green was recently listed in the Evening Standard as one of the top ten places in London for "second steppers"?
The Palmers Green Action Team say that we have a young, active and vibrant community who are desperate to see new life breathed into our high street and the beautiful Edwardian architecture surrounding us. And they've been working on ideas for how to do just that.
To find out what ideas the Action Team have in mind, visit their exhibition, which will be held at the same time as the Spring Clean, 10am to 2pm on 11th May, in the vacant shop next door to the Fox pub. It will focus on the potential for regeneration, showing proposals and ideas for uses of current empty units and ideas for improvements to existing occupied spaces.

The flower bed outside the job centre has been cleared and prepped for planting by volunteers on Saturday. A delivery of new trees for display outside shops has been received and offers of help and refreshments from local traders are flooding in. The pavements have been deep cleaned, shops are cleaning their windows and hanging baskets are being put up all in readiness for the weekend.
There are plenty of activities to get involved in on the day and anyone from the community can turn up to help.
The meeting point is the Triangle at 10am.

* (Incidentally, when we were looking after my wife's parents' house in Bush Hill Park a couple of years ago, we received the Police newsletter for that area, where the monthly average number of crimes was 5 or 6!)
