cllr chris bondTributes have been appearing on social media to Chris Bond, a longstanding Labour councillor in Enfield and former cabinet member for the environment. Chris represented residents in Ponders End, Enfield Lock and most recently Southbury.

Enfield Southgate MP Bambos Charalambous, himself a former Enfield councillor, paid the following tribute:

"Very sad to hear of the death of Cllr Chris Bond. He was a friend and colleague for over 20 years. His 34 years of public service for @EnfieldCouncilwas immense. His sound judgment and advice were invaluable. His friendship and kindness will always be remembered. RIP Chris."

A tribute website has been set up for Chris Bond. Donations in his memory can be made to the Union Chapel in Islington on the website. This is a heritage music venue, and is the base for a London wide homelessness and welfare programme. Supporting those in greatest need.
